HPTU

High Performance Tennis Unit

The Marlborough Tennis Association established the HPTU in 2010. It is a hugely successful and revered junior coaching programme.

The objective of the HPTU is to gather together our best local junior tennis talent for regular coaching that will provide them with the necessary tools to develop into nationally ranked players. The cost is partly funded by the MTA.

MTA only employ qualified coaches who are registered on the Tennis NZ Coaches Register. Tennis NZ has a 5-check process to provide coaches with a recognised registration. It is a way to provide assurance that those who operate as coaches in tennis meet certain standards and are endorsed by both TNZ and the wider International Tennis Federation.

Participation in our HPTU programme requires a minimum standard of tennis playing ability and therefore is by invitation only. There is no age minimum.

If you have been invited to play in the HPTU, apply here. Please ensure you read the terms and conditions prior to applying.
